Updating nikon camera firmware
Seeing as they are both supposed to have the same AF systems, surely it can't be that hard to update to the same features in both cameras. I would love to have these new features to try out on the D500.
I think you'll find that the D500 does also have a dedicated processor for the AF. differences now is how Nikon differentiates the AF of the D500 and D5 with firmware, giving the D5 extra/improved features, and not giving the D500 the same. ) that a camera (the D500) that now new costs three times less than the D5 doesn't perform as well.Other changes include updates to the photo info display to show the colour temperature of images captured using the Auto white balance setting, as well as the addition of an EXIF tag listing to show the difference between the local time zone and UTC.Nikon has also announced a v1.13 firmware update for its D500 DSLR and v1.3 firmware for its B700 compact camera. In addition to updating camera firmware, the company also updated its View NX-1 software from version 1.2.7 to 1.2.8, and its Camera Control Pro 2 software from version 2.25.0 to 2.25.1.All of the updates are minor with the exception of the D5 firmware update, which brings a substantial number of changes including new features and a handful of bug fixes.
